In the world we live in it is so easy to be discouraged. It is easy to lose sight of the calling God has on our lives. There are so many distractions and beliefs that can pull us away from our true purpose and freedom.
One of today's overpowering messages that bombards our influence is the do what thou wilt philosophy, derived from the satanist, Aleister Crowley. It's the belief that if it makes you happy and you feel good doing it, go for it because you have only one life to live.
This type of message is embedded in music, movies, cartoons and in motivational speeches of major influencers. It's the idea that you create your own destiny and you are your own god.
While that sounds good and is motivational for the most part, it's not all the way true. We are not our own god. God is our creator.
There is a way that seems right to man but in the end it leads to death
God said that he came that we may have life and that more abundantly (John 10:8). He wants us to be blessed and be successful. He has a purpose and a plan for our lives, a plan that is good and not evil, to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
However, as believers we must stand on the principles of God's word to accomplish our God given purpose. Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial 1 Cor 10:23.
(You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial)
We don't have to compromise our commitment to our Heavenly Father to have a successful life.
It is so easy to start looking at the monetary gains of people who do what they want and are good, happy and having fun doing it, and start to question our own accomplishments and worth.
But we can take heart, God is cheering us on. He love us all and is right there every step of the way. He wants the best for us. His calling and purpose for our lives far outweighs the temporary gains of this world.
We can get our motivation from, Moses, Noah, Daniel, Esther, and David, who the bible teaches stood on their moral standards in the middle of great opposition and were successful and highly esteemed.
Their loyalty to God saved generations; brought them before great men; gave them financial favor, and placed them in places of great influence. Why? Simply because they trusted God's plan for their own lives and obeyed the call of God on their lives.
We don't have to sell out to accomplish our hopes and dreams. God has our back.
So, if you are a Christian and you are feeling the pressure of standing on the principles of God's word in the middle of opposition, be encouraged, God is rooting for you.
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13). You don't have to sell out for success and acceptance.
You are accepted and love by God. You are favored by God. He will open doors that no man can shut and close doors that no man can open. He sees you and your commitment to him and is pleased with you. Keep your peace and walk in the purpose and the calling of God for your life.
The greatest success one can obtain is eternal life.
The aim is to hear him say well done my good and faithful servant enter into the Joy of the Lord.
We can gain all the success in the world, wealth, power, accolades and influence. That is all Good. God wants to bless our lives, however, God must stay at the center of our lives.
This earthly life is but a mist. We can be here today and gone tomorrow.
Mark 8:36-38 says,
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels”
Keep your Faith in God and know he is your biggest Fan. He is in the audience of your life cheering for you. He sees you and is pleased with your commitment to him. He loves you with an everlasting love and wants the very best for you.
Father, I pray that You would strengthen and encourage every person reading this today. I pray that Your power and presence would manifest in their lives. I pray Lord that if they are feeling alone that You would show them that they are not. I pray that You would give them holy boldness to do whatever it is that You are calling them to do. Strengthen their faith in You Father, that it may never waiver. God I pray that many souls will come to know You Lord because of their commitment to serving You. Your word says if You be lifted up, You will draw all men unto you. So, Lord be lifted up in their walk and commitment to You. Show up in their lives like never before Lord. Move on their behalf. Go before them in every circumstance and be their shield. Let them see you move in a powerful way. I thank you right now for what You're doing in their lives and what You're going to do in their future. In Jesus mighty name I pray, amen!
I encourage you to read the following: The book of Esther, Daniel 6,
Genesis 6 - 7 ( Story of Noah), 1 Samuel 16- 17 (David), Exodus 1-15 (Moses and Israelites escape from egypt) and the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (Jesus example of standing through opposition).
Those are great passages to read to encourage your faith when being challenged to choose what God's purpose for your life is over the influences of this world.
